Educational City Walks 2025
APPLICATIONS CLOSED!
The ‘Educational City Walks’ workshop is organized by the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) and the Home for Cooperation (H4C). It is aimed at those interested in gaining the theoretical tools and practical skills necessary for planning and leading educational city walks independently, or as part of the AHDR and H4C roster of walks facilitators (see below). Training sessions will be held at the Home for Cooperation, Ledra Palace Buffer Zone, in Nicosia on 4, 5 and 12 July 2025.
The ‘Educational City Walks’ workshop
The workshop is designed for both new and experienced educational walks facilitators and seeks to assist in the development of the knowledge and skills required to effectively plan and lead educational walks independently (as part of their own research or practice), or in collaboration with AHDR and H4C as members of its pool of facilitators. The course will offer participants an opportunity to:
- Expand their understanding of the theoretical and practical tools for developing and leading educational walks.
- Learn more about how educational walks can be used in research or artistic, educational or other practices.
- Develop their outdoor workshop facilitation skills.
- Design and implement their own educational city walk and receive feedback.
The course includes presentations/discussions with experts, on-site visits, mutual learning exercises and individual work. Participants will be introduced to a pool of resources they can draw on to research and design their walks, including AHDR publications, work-in-progress by the AHDR and its collaborators, the AHDR Library, as well as a growing network of researchers, educators, and walks facilitators. All sessions will be held in English.
