Spatial Practices in Art and ArChitecture for Empathetic EXchange (SPACEX)
Spatial Practices in Art and Architecture for Empathetic Exchange (SPACEX) is a transdisciplinary research action that utilizes secondments between academic institutions and third-sector organizations to scope and map European spatial practices. SPACEX aims to test, map, analyze, communicate, and maximize the ways in which spatial practices in art, architecture, and design instigate public exchange and promote empathetic ways of living together in urban space.
The comprehensive transdisciplinary composition of the SPACEX consortium, consisting of 30 participating organizations in Europe and 1 in Palestine, enables its Experienced Researchers (ERs) and Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) to undertake secondments in a range of world-renowned academic institutions, research institutes, arts organizations, biennials, urban agencies, a film festival, and a creative media agency.
Between 2021 and 2024, the Home for Cooperation participated in both hosting researchers and sending staff members to visit the Royal College of Art, the University of Northampton, and Coventry University. More information can be found here: https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/872561.
