Nicosia seems to stand as a link between the past, present and the future of its habitants and visitors. The walled city of Nicosia is filled with structures and monuments that stand in time as remnants of its residents. These monuments stand as silent narrators, waiting for passers-by to take a moment off their busy routines and take a closer look at them. In these educational walks and rides, we explore Nicosia, across the divide, giving voice to these silent narrators, unpacking their secrets.
The Home organizes educational walks and rides in the old city of Nicosia in collaboration with the AHDR. These are a great opportunity to learn more about the city’s cultural heritage, social life, history, and architecture and much more. They are facilitated by experienced animators in English, Greek and Turkish, and take place across the divide.
Through these walks/rides, participants embark on a collective experience of transgressing the crossing points as members of a group and get to know the other half of their city.
Upcoming Educational Walks or Rides are announced on our website and social media.
