Art Workshop: Rehearsing Futures
Workshop title: Rehearsing Futures
Date: Tuesday, 27th of February
Time: 5pm-7pm
Location: Home for Cooperation (Workshop Room)
Facilitator: Alex Parry
Registrations via email at contact@home4cooperation.info
Description:
This is an open call to participate in an artistic workshop in which we will collectively explore how daily acts of care might be acts of rehearsal for future more equitable worlds.
We will explore stories from our own lives and the daily acts of care that make up our everyday experiences. These stories will be a starting for the workshop, which will result in a series of images.
What to bring?
Please bring an object that represents a form of care you have given or have received. This could be an object that symbolizes a form of care for yourself, a stranger, your wider community, family, friends, animals, plant life, or anything else you might think of.
Who is Alex Parry?
I am an artist and PhD researcher at Coventry University in the UK. Through my research I explore the art workshop as a space of rehearsal for worlds to come. I have an MA in Contemporary Art Practice in the public sphere from the Royal College of Art (UK), and a BA in Social Anthropology and Media from Goldsmiths University (UK).
