Thekla Demetriadou is a member of The Home Café team as a part-time barista. She studied Sociology and completed her studies with a master’s degree on “Social Exclusion, Minorities and Gender”. She then worked for 15 years as an Officer of the National Human Rights Institution (Cyprus Ombudsman), specializing in policies concerning migration, refugees, human trafficking, and discrimination. Having decided that there are additional ways to promote social change, she participated, alongside her full-time job, in street markets with her own food stall and handmade creations, and is continuing to do so. Her genuine interest for meeting and interacting with open-minded people, from all over the world, lead her to join The Home Café team in January 2023.
