In it Together! Talks about Pride and Hate Speech

“Let’s talk about pride and hate speeches” co-organized by Queer Cyprus Association και τους Bubble Out Cyprus is an event to discuss the effects of hate speech on those who experience them.

Every year after the Pride Marches in May and June, which raise awareness about LGBTI+ struggles and rights, hate speeches and negative comments are posted across social media platforms. Such negative comments and discourses deeply affect the LGBTI+ community and allies. In particular, hate speech and online harassment negatively affect mental health and well-being.

The organizers invite everyone interested in the thematic discussion on the 5th of July at 18:00-20:00 at the Home for Cooperation to the discussion. Moderated by a certified psychologist with an expert background in LGBTI+ issues the discussion will give participants the opportunity to share their stories and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Discussion will be held in English and language support will be provided for those facing difficulties expressing themselves in English.
