In presence, in togetherness

“In presence, In togetherness” is a three-part workshop series under the Home for Cooperation’s project United by Sound.
The series is bringing together musicians from across the dividing lines in Cyprus, in a space of listening, dialogue, and shared experience. Rooted in music and open to closely related artistic practices, each workshop stands on its own while also contributing to a wider conversation about creativity, resilience, and community. Participants are welcome to attend one or more sessions, depending on availability.
The series culminates in a public event on International Music Day, 21 June 2026, where selected elements emerging from the workshops may be shared.

Workshop 1: The Musician’s Mindset
Building a resilient creative path in the Cypriot landscape
This opening workshop creates a shared space of trust, listening, and dialogue. Participants are invited into a circle where stories, experiences, and personal perspectives can be exchanged, whether related to music, artistic practice, or life within the Cypriot cultural reality.
Together, we reflect on what it means to build and sustain a creative path in a complex local context, touching on resilience, uncertainty, motivation, and identity. The session is open to musicians at all stages, as well as artists whose work is closely connected to sound and music.
This workshop stands independently, and no prior or future attendance is required, though it also sets a foundation for those who choose to join the following sessions.

Workshop 2: The Musician’s Practice
Staying connected to creativity and to each other
This workshop focuses on the everyday experience of being an artist, and how we stay in touch with our creative impulses, doubts, and questions over time. Participants are invited to share what has been occupying their thoughts or practice recently, whether moments of movement or moments of pause.
The session builds on open conversation and collective reflection, without expectations of preparation or output. While it connects naturally to the wider workshop series, participants are welcome to join even if they did not attend the first session.
The emphasis is on showing up, listening, and remaining connected to a broader artistic community.

Workshop 3: The Musician’s Path
Reflection, listening, and moving forward together
The final workshop offers space for reflection and perspective. Participants are invited to share where they currently find themselves in their artistic journey, and to listen to others doing the same. This session acknowledges both continuity and change, recognising that not everyone’s path unfolds in the same way or at the same pace. Attendance at previous workshops is welcome but not essential, and new participants can easily join the conversation.
