The Home for Cooperation has implemented the “bi-communal Europe Direct Centre” project, under the name Europe Direct Ledra Palace Area, for the period 2022 and 2025.
Τι είναι το Europe Direct;
Το Europe Direct Περιοχή Λήδρα Πάλας είναι μέρος ενός πανευρωπαϊκού δικτύου που απαριθμεί περισσότερα από 400 κέντρα σε 28 μέλη κράτη της ευρωπαϊκής ένωσης με την οικονομική στήριξη της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής. Το πρόγραμμα υλοποιείται από τον Όμιλο Ιστορικού Διαλόγου και Έρευνας (AHDR) και στεγάζεται στο Σπίτι της Συνεργασίας, στην ελεγχόμενη από τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη περιοχή του Λήδρα Πάλας.
Το Κέντρο στοχεύει στην ενημέρωση των Ευρωπαίων πολιτών σε όλο το νησί, σχετικά με τα δικαιώματά αλλά και τις ευκαιρίες που έχουν. Με την ξεχωριστή του τοποθεσία, το κέντρο μπορεί να λειτουργεί σε διακοινοτικό επίπεδο για την ευαισθητοποίηση σχετικά με τα οφέλη της ΕΕ και την προώθηση των αξιών και των αρχών της ΕΕ. Europe Direct Περιοχή Λήδρα Πάλας
The mission of Europe Direct Ledra Palace Area, in accordance with that of the Europe Direct Information Centres network, has been to inform European citizens about the EU, in particular about the rights of EU citizens and the EU’s priorities. The centre aimed to promote participatory citizenship at a local and regional level and provide information on EU legislation and how this is being implemented in Cyprus. Information on the various EU programmes, grants and funding opportunities available to individuals and organisations in Cyprus were provided so as to increase opportunities for employment and education for citizens.
Europe Direct was located in the Home Gallery Building, opposite Home for Cooperation, within the UN Buffer Zone in Nicosia. The Centre was located at the Ledra Palace crossing point between the two sides of the Green Line providing easy access to all communities of the Island. It aimed to answer your questions in person and also hosted EU publications, materials, events and gatherings, transforming the Centre into a meeting point and a shared space.
